Snow Skiing Suits
Snow skiing suits are essential for anyone who wants to ski. They are available in several styles including one piece and two piece. Ski suits are designed to be waterproof and keep the body warm. While older style suits are quite bulky there are modern suits that offer all the necessary features without the bulk. Look for a suit that is waterproof, windproof and designed for warmth. Some suits may be lined with fleece for extra protection against the elements. You will find that these suits come in a wide variety of styles, colors and price ranges.
When choosing your ski clothing keep in mind that you will need more than just the ski suit. You will need thermal undergarments to keep warmth close to the body. Thermal fabrics are designed to be warm while allowing air to reach the skin. This cuts down on perspiration and keeps you comfortable but not cold. You will also need a good pair of gloves to protect your hands. Some of the higher quality gloves can cost more than $50 per pair. A hat is also imperative because the majority of body heat is lost through the head. Choose a warm hat that offers protection for the ears also.
Wool socks are a must to keep your feet warm and dry under your boots. You will also need a pair of sunglasses to protect your eyes from UV rays and shield glare. Choose sunglasses especially made for skiing. Oakley sunglasses are a good choice as this brand is made for athletes and there are specific styles designed for skiing. Sunscreen in a high SPF is also very important. Even though it is cold outside, you can still get burned from the sun. You should also use a lip balm with SPF to keep your lips from getting chapped and windburned.
A light backpack is another important item because it can be used to hold various essentials or even layers of clothing if you get too hot. When shopping for snow skiing suits you will want to shop for all of your related items as well. Many ski resorts offer equipment rentals although you will need to provide your own ski wear. Make sure to try your suit on before buying it to make sure it is comfortable. You want to be able to move freely in your suit while maintaining a high level of protection from the cold temperatures and snow.
